Coat of Many Colors by Dolly Parton is one of my favorite songs of all time. Coat of Many Colors is a song full of emotion and heart. I love the storytelling aspect of this song. The story being shared with listeners can be interpreted however the listener wants to perceive it. The great thing about lyrics is that people can relate to them however they want. I think about writing songs. I want to grow as a songwriter and a storyteller. Listening to Dolly Parton music has taught me many things about pursuing being a songwriter. Dolly Parton inspires me to become a songwriter that’s passionate about her work and writes songs that make an audience feel something.
